WARDROBE STAPLE - DENIM

WARDROBE STAPLE - DENIM

There is no more important wardrobe staple than a great pair of jeans, right?!

Most of us have dozens of pairs (most likely too many) tucked away in our wardrobe.

Distressed, busted at the knee, flared or high-waisted, whatever your style wear this season's denim with timeless tones, tan, khaki and white to achieve your best chic look.

 THE SKINNY

Yes, skinnies are predictable but we can't deny they are the one style of jeans that can take you from day to night in a heartbeat. They are also the most flattering jeans you can find; they suit skinny to curvier-shaped girls. Yes, you curvy women that think you can’t wear skinnies, you need to. They slim out thighs, and they draw attention to your calves, which is normally our leanest body part.

We love wearing our skinnies with an oversized shirt; it’s all about creating that balance. Ankle boots, pointed heels, loafers or ballet flats are also my go to. We recommend you buy a pair if you haven't already - you'll never regret it.

FRAYED DENIM

This season a key look for denim is the undone look. Frayed and raw edges, intentional holes (the jokes will come pouring in) cut offs in light blue hues will be your wardrobe staple for the Summer season. This trend is best paired with sophisticated pieces like tailored blazers, structures tees and your best high heeled pump.

 WHITE DENIM

Years ago white denim was frowned upon. But now a pair of white jeans MUST be on your denim rotation this year. We can’t live without them as they inject a fresh tone against all the dark colours we tend to accumulate.

If you find all white hard to master then go for a tonal look that incorporates different neutral layers.  White jeans also work perfectly with black; we pair ours with a black blazer or oversized knit.

THE NEW BOYFRIEND

We have seen a move away from loose, baggy style denim that hides your shape. This year we will see a relaxed cut in a midrise fit. It's a classic straight leg shape that always looks great, as you aren't trying too hard.
