These terms and conditions (the “agreement”) is a legally binding agreement which sets out the terms and conditions for teasureboxx Timaru Limited.  This agreement contains all the terms and conditions governing the rental of items from treasureboxx via our website. Please read this Rental Agreement in full before entering or using any part of our website.

These terms and conditions are a legal agreement between you and treasureboxx Timaru Limited. The terms and conditions are established by us, and you use the services that we provide, which you submit your personal information, order our products, and use the information provided for further action via our website at

General – Rental Agreement:

The full Terms and conditions can be found under “Terms and Conditions”, and they can vary from time to time. You agree that your use of our services is held against the Terms of Service on our website. No other terms or conditions shall have any force or effect.

The contract you agree to is the treasureboxx rental agreement. This means that we hold you accountable to uphold the rental agreement, which is specified in your order including the dates for the rental, the product ordered, its size, and the date by which the item is due to be returned. If the item is not returned by the due date stated in the terms and conditions you will be accountable for late fees, as you have no right to the product past the required date of return.

All prices on our website are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD)

Rental Fees, Credit Card Authorisations, Cancellations:

The rental fee will be stated along-side the information required for each product which is listed on the website, the rental fee does not include postage costs. This will be charged at “check-out”. In submitting your order, you hereby authorise us to charge your account used for payment for the rental fee and postage costs. This charge will occur immediately. 

Please note the garment is for single use only; the customer who purchased this garment is the only one able to wear this garment. Your garment is for use ONLY on the day you selected to hire when making your purchase. 

If you require a cancellation, this must be completed within 24 hours of placing your order via our website. We will process your cancellation claim, and refund you the full amount, or you can choose a credit voucher code if you would prefer, if you meet the requirements. Should a cancellation be submitted after 24 hours of placing your order we hold no obligation to refund or reimburse you for any of the costs incurred with the initial order. A credit voucher code maybe issued to be used within 12 months of the issue date.

Credit Voucher Codes ( Credits ) will only be valid for 12 months from date of issue.

If an item does not fit/ or you do not like the item on after you receive it you will not be issued a refund. A credit voucher code maybe issued for the amount paid ( minus shipping ). This will be on a case by case basis. To be considered you need to contact us within 24 hours of the parcel arriving to you. Anytime out of this will not be considered. 

Your obligations:

Once the item has arrived to you, you hold the responsibility to these items. When providing an address for shipping you confirm that this address is your physical address, that of which you hold yourself accountable for the items when delivered. If you provide us an address where you do not physically reside, treasureboxx shall take no responsibility for non-delivery or any liability to what happens to the product after delivery. 

Orders that is classified as rural under NZ post system, and rural delivery was NOT paid for, will not get refunded if it does not arrive on time. Please make sure you select the rural delivery option at checkout.

If delivery has been attempted but not successful, and redelivery does not arrive at your desired time, we do not reimburse you for this - it is your responsibility to be accessible for the courier to successfully deliver the arrival of your garment.

Pick up and drop off:

You may pick up and drop off the garment free of charge. We are based in Timaru, pick up details will be emailed to you in the week of your event. 

If you are dropping the item back to us, we require the item to be returned the next day (Example: if you rent something on a Saturday it must be returned on the Sunday or Monday). Failure to do so will result in a $25.00 late fee penalty per day that the item is not returned.


treasureboxx uses the NZ Post overnight delivery service and R3pack compostable courier bags. 

Any order placed before 1pm for the same weekend will be sent same day, otherwise the order will be shipped the next day.


  • If the item isn't ready to be sent off. Examples of this include, but are not limited to: the garment is coming back from the previous customer, it is being cleaned or is getting alterations/repairs. 
  • NZ Post does not give a guarantee that the item will arrive overnight, it is a delivery target/guideline. Once shipped, you will receive an email with your tracking details, it is strongly suggested that you keep an eye on the tracking of the parcel incase there are any courier delays. 
  • Rural delivery: if your address is rural, please make sure you select, and pay for, the rural delivery shipping option. This gives notice that your order needs to be sent off as early as possible before your event as rural delivery shipping can take longer than standard urban areas. If this option is not selected at shipping, and it does not arrive on time, treasureboxx will not held accountable. Rural delivery usually takes between 1 - 3 working days, even if it is shipped on the NZ Post overnight service. 
  • Saturday delivery: if an order is placed after 5pm on a on Thursday or Friday morning for the current week/weekend you must select, and pay for, Saturday delivery. Without this extra tag, it may not get delivered on time. Orders that require Saturday delivery tags are at your own risk, treasureboxx will not be held accountable if they do not arrive on time and you will not be issued a refund however a credit can be supplied.
  • If the rental you have booked is for a future date (i.e. not the immediate week/weekend).

Late Orders Placed:

If your order is placed within 2 working days before your event date this constitutes a late order and we cannot guarantee the order will arrive in time because;

  • NZ Post does not give a guarantee that the item will arrive overnight, it is a delivery target/guideline. Once shipped, you will receive an email with your tracking details, it is strongly suggested that you keep an eye on the tracking of the parcel incase there are any courier delays. 

*We don't do pick up/drops off on the weekend.

You agree to treat the items with care so that unnecessary damage does not occur. You will be held accountable for loss to the goods due to theft, disappearance, or any other occurrences that may result in the product being lost, if outside of our "Dress Protection" offerings.


Steps to contact Courier Post

To track your item please go to the NZ post tracking website, this can be used to track both NZPost parcels and Courier Post parcels. Or click the tracking link on your email. Please please constantly monitoring your tracking detail. If you cannot find your tracking link please check your spam/junk mail. 

Delays can occur. If your item has been delayed, please contact NZPost/ Courier Post on 0800 268 743 as soon as possible. 

We ask that receivers to contact Courier Post for issues as this is the items postal carrier and we unfortunately have no control over delays. When contacting Courier Post we advised that sometimes depot pick ups can be arranged if the item has reached your local depot. 

We are not liable for communications between our customers and Courier Post. However if you are needing us to assist please reach out. 

Overnight shipping is estimated to be overnight. Although rarely there are shipping delays that affect the items ability in meeting this estimate. Therefore overnight tracked shipping as stated by Courier Post is never guaranteed to deliver the following business day, as it is subject to processing delays.  

Rural shipping is estimated to take 1-3 days to arrive. If you do not select Rural shipping for a rural address, we are not liable if the item does not arrive in time.

Renters who incorrectly select pick up instead of shipping, will not be offered any form of compensation if the garment does not arrive to them in time. Please carefully select your shipping option, and double check this on your order confirmation.


Dress Protection:

Our dress protection covers you for minor damage to our dresses.

FOR EXAMPLE;  Alcohol stains, fake tan, minor pilling, rips and any small alternations or sewing needs thus the dress protection covers the extra costs treasureboxx needs to pay for these minor damages. 

    Our Dress damage protection cover does not cover the following:

    • If a dress is returned and deemed not rentable due to excessive staining and or damage, the FULL RRP less your rental cost will need to be paid. In any case this happens you will get to keep the damaged item. 
    • Theft of our dresses.
    • Not correctly returning the dress. All parcels must be sent back to us at treasureboxx in the postal bag provided and handed over to the cashier at your nearest NZ POST shop. Please make sure the return bag is scanned so you have proof incase a item were to go missing as this will be deemed lost and the full RRP will need to be paid. 
    • If you have accidentally damaged the dress it must be returned to us as it will still be the property of treasureboxx until an outcome is reached.

    Any damage to any of our items WITHOUT our dress protection will be charged the cost to repair the minor damage OR the full RRP less your rental price for the dress if the dress is deemed not rentable due to excessive staining and damage.

    If you have not paid for the "Dress Protection", and the item requires professional cleaning services you will be liable for these costs and will be charged appropriately. If the returned garment is beyond what is considered normal wear and tear then you will be liable for the full RRP value of the product. 

    The rental agreement states that we require you to send the product back to treasureboxx in the prepaid post packaging provided by the return date specified on the return card. You have the option to extend the order at any point via email or telephone, provided it is available for the dates requested, further charges will be applicable accordingly. If you return the goods late, a late fee of $25.00 per day will be charged to you. If our product has not been returned to us within the 14 days, this non-compliance of return will be considered as a breach of the rental agreement and treasureboxx shall have the right to charge you the full PPR of the product (less any late fees that have already been paid).

    If the prepaid post bag provided is lost by you, you are held responsible for returning the item at your own expense by the expected return date. The alternative return must be using a nationwide overnight courier service. You must immediately notify us with a tracking code.

    Damage by you to the garment:

    Our biggest piece of advice, when wearing a hire garment is to treat it as if it were your own and make sure the dress protection is purchased. In the event that the garment is damaged whilst in your care, the best thing to do is to not stress and notify us as soon as possible so we can come up with a quick solution. Please email us as soon as possible and in any event no later than the day after your event.

    If damage does occur, you are liable to pay for the full cost of any/all repairs. Please refer to our FAQ for our current charges. If the garment cannot be repaired to an appropriate standard, you are liable to pay the full RRP of the garment as stated in the product listing, or the costs associated to replace the garment.

    Should any misconduct occur to this rental agreement and you refuse to pay amounts due for any damage or late return, we reserve the right to initiate enforcement procedures. Enforcement procedures including any solicitor fees or any other means we require to recover any fees owing by you, will be liable to you.

    We reserve the right to terminate your membership to treasureboxx at any point in time if you breach any terms of the rental agreement or the Terms and conditions.

    Our commitment to you:

    Once you order has been confirmed, we will uphold the agreement by delivering the product you have ordered, in the correct size, pattern, colour and design, on the date requested to the address you have provided in the order. If the product arrives and it is not of the requested colour, size, pattern and design you must contact treasureboxx within 24 hours of the date you received our product via email or telephone and return the product in the prepaid bags provided in the order. This return must be completed within 24 hours of receiving the product. We will reimburse you with the full amount or with full amount in credit, at your own discretion or we can attempt to find the suitable replacement for the original goods requested by the rental date. treasureboxx holds no responsibility for errors of your own when ordering products such as, but not limited to requesting incorrect sizes, prints, design and colour, treasureboxx holds no responsibility for these mistakes.

    We make sure that all products match the quality level that we have described our products to be at, clean and ready to wear. We inspect our items carefully before sending them away, however if you receive the item and it is not up to the standards outlined please contact treasureboxx within 24 hours of receiving the items.

    You will be provided with a prepaid, pre-addressed “New Zealand post bag” as well as instructions outlining the process of returning the product by its due date.

    Limitation of Liability:

    treasureboxx holds no liability to you or any other third party, for any unforeseen circumstances or circumstances considered force majeure, that result in any damage to the item, non-delivery, or loss of item. You solely hold responsibility for the item during the rental period, if any damage and or claims are made against you as a result of occurrences that happened while you were responsible for the item regardless of whether or not they were your own doing or out of your control, you will be held solely responsible for the costs incurred.


    The rental agreement and the terms and conditions on the website form the entire agreement between you and treasureboxx. treasureboxx reserves the right to change or terminate this agreement at any time, without notice being given. You shall not assign the agreement without the approval of treasureboxx prior to delivery of the goods. Even if the agreement is terminated you are still obligated to fulfil your obligations required under the rental agreement and terms and conditions. Reasons out of treasureboxx's reasonable control including but not restricted to fire, earthquake, and interruptions to supply, other natural disasters, war and or riots or acts of terrorism will result in treasureboxx not being liable for non-fulfilment of its obligations under this agreement.  

    You agree that any photos you send of yourself in our clothing may appear on any/all of our social media accounts, or on
